Caskets

The casket, or American-style coffin, differs from traditional coffins in its square shape and the particularity of its lid. The casket lid is divided into two parts: the double raised lid is fixed with hinges on one side of the coffin, thus allowing the entire coffin to be kept open or, more often, to expose only a part of the deceased, the face and part of the bust, during the wake and the farewell ceremony.

Always used for funerals in the United States, and in other countries adopting its uses and customs, the casket model is increasingly requested in Europe. There are many proposals for American-style coffins from manufacturing companies.

The American casket is characterized by its sturdiness and a regular and elegant design. Available in a variety of styles and finishes, it is often accompanied by luxurious internal linings and padding for a quality final result.

The casket is available on the US market in various materials that provide particular strength and durability to preserve the body inside them for a long time:
  • metal
  • solid wood (less often, composite wood)
The Italian and European production of caskets is generally made of wood
Various proposals for American-shaped wooden caskets are present in the catalogs of the manufacturing companies.
